The new year has brought some big changes here at Take Back the Sky–welcome ones, that is, that will allow us to do more to get our ship out of atmo. The biggest and most important change of all is that we’re expanding in preparation for the 2014 con season.

Take Back the Sky has snowballed to the point where it’s too big for just two Browncoats like us to keep flyin’ on our own, so we’re putting out an active recruiting call.
We’re not looking for “helpers”–like a lot of folk, we both have families and day jobs now, and just don’t have the time to lead others by the hand–what we need are leaders who will step up as cap’ns in their respective areas. The Independent Worlds that stood up to the Core Worlds didn’t have the rigid, hierarchial structure of the Alliance; they were a loose confederation of leaders with their own governments that came together for one important cause–and that’s exactly what we need in order to make this happen.
Our first conference call will be coming up soon. Those of you who are stepping up to table a con, collect letters, or do anything else to get our ship named Serenity are invited to email us at info@takebackthesky.net by 12 AM PST on Saturday, March 1. Tell us:
- Your name
- Your location (city and state)
- Any affiliations with Browncoats, CSTS, or other fan organization (all are welcome) you may have
- What upcoming con or similar event you intend to table at this year. Tell us the who/what/when/where, and, when possible, an estimate of how many people are expected to attend.
We’ll review and respond to serious, committed inquiries with materials for tabling and an invitation to said group VoIP call, where we’ll brief everyone and walk you through the whole process of how to misbehave from beginning to end. Send us a wave, then let’s be bad guys.
